Action Day against precarious work – Hungary

Full report from Vasas, Hungary.

Thousands of metalworkers all over Hungary joined and participated in the World's Day for Decent Work action on 7th October. Demonstrations were held in the 7 regions as well as the capital of the country, where the participants and speakers unanimously demanded that the massive and fast-spreading extension of precarious work be stopped and job security be guaranteed for everyone.

The EMF Collective Bargaining Policy Conference 2009 launched the 2nd Common Demand:

“For more secure employment, against precarious work”,

which will be included in the collective bargaining demands of all its 75 affiliated trade unions and in future collective bargaining rounds throughout Europe over the next four years.
